Happenings

It's Still Hot

We are keeping the projects small. Shannon has a fun, new crochet stitch. We have also restarted our Friday Night Owls asylum, although some nights, we will actually end at 8 pm. :D

Because we are switching to a new system, please call us to sign up for classes.

Beginner Classes

We offer beginning knitting and crochet classes at your convenience.  Our goal in these classes is to give you enough knowledge that you can walk out and go stitch a scarf!  We will also point you to online resources that can help you continue learning and advancing in your fiber quest.  Cost for beginner classes is $30 for instruction only or $40 for instruction plus supplies.  By appointment only.

Crochet 101 2nd Saturdays of each month: 3-5 pm – We cover chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and how to finish a project.  We also discuss other crochet stitches, such as a half double crochet and treble crochet, as variations of those we learn in class.

Knitting 101  4th Saturdays of each month: 3-5 pm – We cover casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding off.  If time allows we will also show you some patterns and designs you can make using only those two stitches!

We also offer more advanced and pattern classes that change from month to month.  Be sure to sign up for our newsletter or check our calendar to stay updated on what we’ll be offering next!  (We promise we won’t send out more than two emails per month.)

Private Instruction

Already know a thing or two about knit or crochet?  Or can’t make the Saturday 101 classes?  Private instruction with any of our staff may be right up your alley!  We’ll have you feeling like a pro in no time!

Events & Upcoming Classes:

Passover Hat (knit)

Sunday, September 12th
3 pm – 5 pm
$20 includes pattern

This pattern is mind-boggling by its simplicity, yet the finished look is sophisticated.

The repetitive nature of the stitch pattern makes it soothing to the soul, and the short 2 rounds repeats mean it’s easy to remember (hello, TV knitting).

It is knit in the round from the bottom up. It’s an easy hat with a traditional 2X2 ribbing, followed by a side braid, then a simple 2 rounds repeat reverse cross stitch until the decrease for the crown. This hat is youth and adult sized and is offered in 4 different sizing options.

Level = Adventurous beginner

Suggested Yarns: Recycled Tweed, Remix Light, Summer Silk
